This morning, I was was walking down our front steps, carrying a big box containing our broken printer (more about that in just a moment) when I tripped down the stairs. I have a tendency to be a bit klutzy, but and I think I missed a step, or maybe I just shouldn’t wear flip flops. Luckily, the box broke my fall (thankfully the printer was already broken!) and all I got was a skinned knee & a little road burn.
As for the broken printer – I want to take a minute to tell you how pleased Tod and I are with HP’s customer service & warranty program. When we got our tax return this year, we invested in a laser printer. We got a pretty good deal on it from Office Max, however, they tried to sell us an in-store warranty for about a third of the price of the printer itself. The cashier stood there and told us that if something went wrong with the printer, that we’d have a really hard time getting it replaced by HP.
Naturally, I was in tears the night our printer actually DID break. Tod offered to take care of it and got in touch with HP customer service. He sent an email and a couple of photos to them on Wednesday, and a refurbished replacement printer showed up at our door on Friday. All we had to do was stick the broken one back in the box and drop it off at our local Fed Ex. Didn’t cost us a dime, and I’ve got a working printer again. Big thumbs up to HP! Big thumbs down to Office Max, for trying to scare us into paying for an extraneous warranty.
I’ve been spending this afternoon updating my Etsy shop! It’s been too long (It’s literally been months, so I know I’m late to the party, but can I just say that I think the new interface is freakin’ awesome? I especially love how all the steps are on one page now, and that I can update multiple photos at once.) I’ll be updating all week, so be sure to check it out and take a peek at what’s new!
