Can you believe this awesome desk we got at the thrift store? It’s going to be the checkout counter for our shop! I’m absolutely in love with it. We couldn’t find any markings on it, but it seems to be from the 1950’s or 1960’s. Pretty hip for a teacher’s desk, don’t you think?
It’s even got a lockable drawer (with the key!) which will definitely come in handy. (Don’t you just want to fill it with confiscated toys and comic books, though? I promise you’ll get them back at the end of the school year… hehe.)
We didn’t get to spend too long at the shop today, though. Today was the day of a million To-Do’s! We got our art prints finalized for our fundraiser campaign:
And designed & pressed some new one-inch-buttons to give away to our supporters, as well.
It’s been a busy week, to say the least. Tomorrow we’re shooting our promo video & Friday we’ll be preparing for the show on Saturday (if you’re local, be sure to stop by and see us at the Lansing City Market on Saturday!)
Next week we’ll be painting, and we’ll get to go shopping for floor tiles and a few other odds and ends. (First stop: our local Habitat for Humanity ReStore!!) I’ve also got six chairs to reupholster, which I’m actually really looking forward to quite a lot. After all of the writing, web site & design work I’ve been doing for the last few weeks, it’ll be a nice change of pace to spend some time doing hands-on things.
PS: One lucky winner will get all of the goodies from PAPERCUTS in the photo below (over $50 worth!) I’m doing a fun giveaway now until Friday! Check out my tumblr for the rules!

Uh! So inspiring, so beautiful. It is gonna rock!
You got all of those!? <3 I'm so jealous! Can't wait to see how those chairs turn out!!! :D Congrats on the great finds!!!
